Welcome to Bush-Field Estates—the pinnacle of Pinot Noir!
Pinot needs constant care and attention. You know? And, in fact, it can only grow in these really specific, little tucked-away corners of the world. And only the most patient and nurturing of growers can do it, really. Only somebody who really takes the time to understand pinot's potential can then coax it into its fullest expression.

Welcome to Bush-Field Estate Vineyards & Winery. Above the cloud line, Bush-Field is located at the top edge of the true Valley of the Moon above Jack London State Park in Sonoma County, California. Our vineyards are in the convergence of three ancient and prominent mountain peaks: Mount Diablo, Mount Tamalpais, and Mount Saint Helena. Our microcosmic climate and blend of native plants and trees give the soil the exceptional aromas and flavors found in our estate grown Pinot Noir.
At 2,350 feet, we are the highest producing Pinot Noir vineyards in Sonoma County. Considered part of the Sonoma Valley Appellation we are in fact, approximately 1,900 feet away from–and above–the Sonoma Mountain Appellation. We use the descriptor Sonoma Mountain Top™ for this unique distinction.
Bush-Field specializes in Pinot Noir. Having planted our first 1.5 acre vineyard in 1999, today we have five acres of estate-grown pinot noir vines. Why Pinot? you might ask. Our proprietor, Alan Benfield Bush says, “Pinot is the loveliest of the red wines - such finesse! It is light and beautiful – yet strong and compelling.”
After a successful career as an internationally recognized master hair artist and protégée to Vidal Sassoon, Alan founded ABBA Pure and Natural hair products. In 1997, Alan sold ABBA, purchased a ranch in Sonoma County and pursued a dream he’d had since he was 19. Celebrating the legacy of all that Alan has accomplished, we hope you will join us now on our journey establishing the future that is Bush-Field Estate Vineyards & Winery.
Welcome!
